Many seminars have moved online this year giving you the opportunity to attend interesting seminars from your office or home. Here are some web-based events coming up in November.
First want to draw your attention to the 2nd NordPlant annual meeting 5th-6th of November. The theme is “Plant phenotyping and modelling for improved resilience and maintained quality in a changing climate“. Full program and registration can be found here.

SLU Table gives the webinar “Food systems resilience in the aftermath of covid-19 – Should the future of food be global or local?“. The seminar is held 5th of November 13.00-15.00 and includes discussions and break our rooms. Register the latest the day before.
At SLU Alnarp Zeratsion Abera Desta will defend his PhD-thesis on Wednesday 11th November 2020 at 9.30. Thesis title is “Genomic tools and molecular breeding for domesticating field cress (Lepidium campestre)”. The defense can be followed via zoom.
The annual Plant Biologicals symposium where PlantLink is covering the membership fee for both LU and SLU will be online on the 12th of November. More information here. Not all titles are yet announced, but two of them are “Contribution to IPM in Different Crops – Sharing Experiences from Syngenta Development Program” by Stefan Dragos and ” Plant extracts for plant disease control: a case study from rice” by Prof. Hans Jørgen Lyngs Jørgensen

Lärosäten syd hosts a webinar series of interest for those researchers interested in applying for funding from Horizon Euroupe next spring. “Learn more about collaborative projects in the upcoming EU research and innovation framework programme – Horizon Europe. The series will present the opportunities for collaborative research and innovation in Horizon Europe.” There will be 6 different webinars, divided based on themes. Read more here. On the 24th of November between 14:00-1600 CET a webinar on remote sensing and multispectral imaging is given with the title: “Let’s make sense of it – non-invasive sensing for food, agriculture and urban green spaces“. This is part of the South Africa-Sweden University Forum (SASUF) week so it will have a clear North-South perspective. Read more here
LU Biology Departmental Seminar offers a webinar the 26th of November on “Cultiavtion of barley (Hordeum vulgare) at the fringes of Europe”. The seminar is given by Dr. Jenny Hagenblad at 15.15 and can be viewed over zoom.
The 6th annual Nordic Plant Phenotyping Network Workshop will be held on on the 27th of November. Keynotes are Prof. Fred van Eeuwijk, (Wageningen University) and Matthew Reynolds (CIMMYT).
30th of November 14-15 SLU Grogrund gives a webinar on “Resistensförädling för friska grödor“. Registration is needed.
