1. Companies to join the Job Fair!

Companies and MSc, PhDs and Post docs – express your interest to join the Job Fair! The planning for the Job Fair on 23-24 August is ongoing, and we are looking for companies and stakeholders who would be interested to participate in the job fair. This job fair part of the ESCAPAdE Erasmus+ program. Please contact Sofia Marmon (sofia.marmon@slu.se) if you are interested to join! Via this form you can also as a student express your interest to join!

2. PlantLink PhD/Postdoc industry mentor program

In conjunction with the Job Fair 23-24 August we plan to start the fifth round of the PlantLink Industrial mentorship program. The program is for both PhD students and post docs and the registration is open as part of the registration to the Job Fair here. The participants in the industry mentorship program are encouraged to receive 2 ECTS at their home university to participate in this program. Note that this program is only open to PhD students and post docs at Lund University and SLU.

3. PlantLink lunch webinars start 24 March

PlantLink launches a new series of webinars, with focus on plant related networks and organizations!
Every second Wednesday 12.30 with start the 24th of March PlantLink will host a 30 min lunch webinar. Please find the introductions to the first three webinars here:

24/3 NordGen – NordGen is working as a gene bank and knowledge center to promote sustainable use and conservation of genetic resources. Hear director Lise Lykke Steffenssen tell more about NordGen, and how they may support your plant research!

7/4 LUCSUS –LUCSUS is a sustainability centre for research, teaching and impact, based in the Faculty of Social Sciences, where they work to understand, explain, and catalyse social change and transformations in relation to material limits in the biosphere and social justice. In this webinar Lennart Olsson (founder and director 2000-2016) will give an introduction to LUCSUS and specifically talk about their work on ‘a perennial revolution’ in agriculture – shifting from annual to perennial grains.

21/4 LU Land – The thematic collaboration initiative LU Land– Land-use for a sustainable future is a platform gathering researchers and societal actors interested in land-use related issues. By enabling dialogue over traditional discipline and sector boarders, our aim is to find ways to solve existing land-use related challenges and conflicts, and together develop a sustainable future land-use. In this webinar, Juliana Dänhardt will present LU Land as a network, talk about a recently completed Horizon scan and discuss potential possibilities for collaboration.

4. EPSO European webinars

EPSO launches a new European-wide seminar series on a hot and/or emerging topic in plant science aimed at the Plant Science community and its stakeholders.

TTT: The seminar will be held online each third Thursday of the month at three (CET).

The seminars will be hosted on Zoom and last approximately 1.5 hours. Numbers will be limited to 300 attendees and therefore please register early if you would like to join. There will be ample opportunities to ask questions and join the debate. So please join us to support this new and exciting initiative for European Plant Science by following this link just prior to the start of the seminar.

5. Webinar; From research to innovation with new breeding techniques 13 April

PlantEd, together with Växtnoden, welcomes you to a webinar where the private breeding sector will give their view on research and innovation with new breeding techniques.

Tuesday 13 April 2021 at 14:00-15:30 (CET)

Speakers: Petra Jorasch ( Euroseeds), Jon Falk (SAATEN-UNION BIOTEC GmbH), and Mariette Anderssson (SolEdits AB).

You can find more information and registration here

6. Postdoc Molecular biology Plant immune signaling SLU Alnarp

To identify new players in plant-pathogen interactions, we have generated quantitative proteomics data from three different immunity reactions in potato. The molecular mechanisms at play will be elucidated by molecular biology and protein assays including CRISPR/Cas9. Experiments are mainly carried in laboratory and controlled greenhouse environments, but also in field trials using mainly gene edited potato.

The successful applicant will be funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation and The Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning.

Please find more information here

7. Postdoc Plant metabolites Ghent

Announcement for a junior postdoc position in the group of Alain Goossens, looking for somebody skilled in plant synthetic biology and fascinated by plant metabolites
The online application link can be found here

8. PhD Forest policy SLU Alnarp

The Swedish forest policy will be the focal subject of this project. Forest policy in Sweden has been for decades characterized by soft instrumentation, primarily relying on advisory services and with limited application of regulatory and economic policy instruments. This orientation was reinforced by policy liberalization in 1993, under the guiding principle of “freedom under responsibility”.

9. Associate senior lecturer farm management, SLU Alnarp

The subject area for the position is business administration with a focus on farm management. The position aims for research and teaching in one or several areas: production economics, financial management, accounting, advanced enterprise budgeting techniques, business strategy and development, property valuation and investment principles applicable to agriculture.
