1. PlantLink Seedmoney granted!

Seventeen strong applications for PlantLink seed money support have now been evaluated by the external referees. We congratulate Olivier van Aken, Mats Hansson and Magne Friberg who were the head applicants of the three granted applications. Read more about the Seedmoney projects here.

2. Join the seminar “Interdisciplinary research generation in food science”

This is a seminar arranged by LU Food Faculty in collaboration with CEC, LUBIRC and PlantLink.
Date: 5 December at 13-16
Location: Pufendorf Institute in Lund (Biskopsgatan 3). Register here.

3. Vinnova granted the Plant Protein Plant project

Vinnova has granted funding for the Plant Protein Plant project. Within the project, a plant for the extraction of plant protein from plant material will be built at Alnarp. The project was funded with approximately 10 million SEK. The project was initiated from the Department of Plant Breeding, SLU, through Eva Johansson who together with Bill Newson has been active in the application process together with SLU Holding. A number of companies will be involved. Bill Newson will also be active in the project.

4. PlantLink is now a member of SPPS

Please visit their homepage www.spps.seto see the ongoing activities. This means that you can register for individual membership for free hereas well as other possibilities to nominate to SPPS prizes

9. The Plant Genetic Resources International Platform (PGRIP) – with funding from Mistra and Mistra Biotech

PGRIP: Over the past few decades, the regulatory frameworks surrounding plant research and breeding have become increasingly detailed and complex. This includes international treaties and conventions on the access and benefit-sharing of plant genetic resources, national/regional biosafety legislation related to the technologies for managing and improving the genetic material, and intellectual property systems including plant breeders´ rights and patents. Now a new project – the Plant Genetic Resources International Platform (PGRIP) – with funding from Mistra and Mistra Biotech is addressing these issues. The main objective of PGRIP is to provide a platform for interdisciplinary collaborations analyzing and addressing the policies and regulatory developments for plant genetic resources used for research and breeding. PGRIP supports and facilitates international, peer-reviewed publications to ensure that evidence-based and scientific perspectives are available for policy makers and other stakeholders. Resources are also allocated to stimulate research mobility. Please visit the website www.pgrip.org or contact Dennis Eriksson at dennis.eriksson@pgrip.org if you want to know more.

10. We congratulate all applicants receiving VR and Formas grants!

Congratulations to all recipients of grants from VR and Formas! Find the list of plant-related research projects in LU and SLU Alnarp here.

11. Sustainability week themes 2019
